CEE Basic Needs Project

What is the CEE Basic Needs Project?

The Basic Needs Project is a Central & Eastern European (CEE) Round Table initiative focused on funding high-impact international service projects that meet basic human needs — water, food, health, education, and housing. We want to encourage clubs in the whole region to contribute to international service inspired by Austria’s 90:10 model, where:

  • 90% of charity work supports local projects.
  • 10% supports global projects that create big change due to stronger purchasing power of their currency.

That small 10% can cover up to 90% of a project’s cost in developing regions — maximizing impact! So, let’s scale international service through the whole CEE region!

Core Goals CEE Basic Needs Project

The project is driven by a powerful idea:

  • to impact as many people as possible
  • with the most basic needs (Food, Water, Health, Education, and Housing)
  • in countries with an active Round Table
  • through a local Round Table
  • supported by the Round Table RTI CEE Region
  • to help people in need
  • to build lasting international friendships
  • to raise awareness of Round Table’s values and presence in each country
  • to attract new members
